    H I S T O R Y

ASOIAF Books + Game of Thrones TV Series

Basically, everything that happens in the books is true, but so is everything that happens in the TV show. George R. R. Martin has confirmed that the ending of the show has the same outcome as the books, but with just a few different ways of how it all got there. So, in our story we won't define those specifics either - just the main points, then logical predictions of what would happen after.

    TLDR Version:

    • Stannis Baratheon is defeated at the Battle of Winterfell, killed by Brienne of Tarth.
    • Young Griff (Aegon Blackfyre) failed and died in his conquest.
    • Varys and Illyrio shift their support to Daenerys.
    • Jon Snow is truly the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.
    • Arya Stark extincts House Frey, using her Faceless abilities.
    • The Others (the White Walkers, the Night King) were destroyed.

    • Daenerys is killed by Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen) for burning King's Landing.
    • The Iron Throne is melted by Drogon's dragonfire.
    • House Martell goes extinct, Anders Yronwood becomes the Prince of Dorne that swore to Daenerys.
    • Bran Stark, the Three-Eyed Raven (or Crow), is elected as King by the Great Council at the Dragonpit.
    • Sansa Stark becomes Queen in the North, declaring independence.
    • Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen) is sent to the Wall, where he almost immediately deserts them with the Wildlings.
    • Ser Bronn of the Blackwater becomes Lord of Highgarden, Lord Paramount of the Mander and the Master of Coin.

    • Yara (or Asha) Greyjoy and Prince Yronwood create an alliance after the coronation of King Bran. They wish to join forces to exact revenge; both of them having sworn to Daenerys and promised their independence. They recruit the Unsullied, saving them from a potentially fatal voyage to Naath.

    • Samwell Tarly's son, "Little Sam" is raised at Horn Hill to one day become its Lord.
    • Robin Arryn, with the help and guidance of Yohn Royce, becomes a formidable ruler.
    • Gendry Baratheon, with the help and guidance of House Dondarrion, becomes a formidable ruler.
    • Edmure Tully takes Sansa's insult rather personally, halting supplies from reaching her.

    • Queen Sansa Stark takes Lord Rickard Ryswell as her suitor. Their relationships is unromantic -- once Sansa becomes officially pregnant, she no longer welcomes him in her bed chambers.

    • When Daenerys was killed, Drogon flew East to Volantis with her corpse. The Faith of R'hllor worship Daenerys as Azor Ahai. She is taken to Asshai and resurrected by Kinvara.

    • Daenerys visits the ruins of Valyria and has magical visions of her unborn child with Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen). In her visions, the "Valyrian Gods" spoke to her and tell her that the blood of the dragon must continue. By flying up to the tallest tower, only possible on dragonback, she collects as many treasures as possible -- including two new dragon eggs and a Valyrian steel sword.

    • Daenerys returns to Mereen, where she is welcomed and worshipped as their Queen and Mhysa. Much of her conquest in Essos has improved and stabilised, to everyone's surprise. She reunites with Daario Naharis and tells her Council to make plans to take Westeros again -- fully blaming her advisors for their poor and corrupt counsel.

    • With the Sept of Baelor destroyed and the city burned, the Faith of the Seven's presence in King's Landing has dwindled immensely. The Red Priests preach the Lord of Light in the streets, with many common folk converting to them -- believing Daenerys to be a hero who cleansed the city and freed them from the tyranny of Cersei. The people develop a sour taste for Bran, his abilities and his Old Gods. They preach that Daenerys is the One who was Promised and has returned.

    • Daenerys returns to Westeros, where she has forces stationed at Dorne, Dragonstone and the Iron Islands. Prince Anders swears fealty and tricks Gendry Baratheon into coming to Dorne for a marriage betrothal to his daughter. Gendry quickly finds himself pressured into kneeling to Daenerys. Daenerys is informed that Jon Snow deserted the Night's Watch and is now somewhere Beyond-the-Wall with the Wildlings.

    • The noble Lords at King's Landing, some from the Crownlands, some from the Riverlands, uproar against Tyrion and the Small Council -- expressing their distaste for the Red Priests and the King's Old Gods. They all collectively disapprove of a Northern King, feeding an independent North while they do not even have enough food for themselves. This is because Bronn of Highgarden is being incredibly selfish with his harvests.

    • Bran discovers that his powers are very weak unless he is in the North, surrounded by the magic of the Old Gods.

    • Queen Sansa Stark gives birth to Eddard Stark. Her husband, Rickard Ryswell, the King Consort, takes a few men to fend off the Ironborn raiders on the Stony Shore. Rickard is captured and brought before Queen Yara (Asha) Greyjoy and her now Dornish lover, Gwyneth Yronwood. They interrogate Rickard and learn of the newly born Eddard.

    • Daenerys arrives at Pyke with specifically 9 Unsullied, including Grey Worm. She threatens Rickard Ryswell. She tells him that Sansa must burn for her treason, but after he death, he will rule as Warden of the North until his Stark son comes of age. Ryswell, his pride damaged by Sansa's neglection, agrees -- that, and he doesn't want to burn.

    • Daenerys burned Ryswell's companion, Lord Flint, on a pyre with one of her dragon eggs. Lord Flint would not bow and spat in Ryswell's face while naming him a traitor. Only death may pay for life. The egg hatched, and the newly born dragon was named Missandor.

    • Under the guise of the night sky, Daenerys flew above Winterfell and set its Weirwood aflame. Everyone in Winterfell rushed in attempt to save it, but were too late. No one saw Daenerys as she returned to the darkness, but Sansa felt like more of a failure than ever before.

    • Beyond-the-Wall, Daenerys and the Unsullied capture Jon Snow and kill his direwolf, Ghost. He is dragged in chains to Drogon's back, where they then fly to Dragonstone.

    • At the Stony Shore, Yara (Asha) Greyjoy, the Ironborn and Daenerys' Ghiscari army begin making their way to Winterfell - cutting down any Northern resistance along the way. At Torrhen's Square, Yara burns their Weirwood tree.

    • Sansa and her council got word of these happenings, but she was too stubborn to flee. Instead, she sent Maester Wolkan and some of her guard to escort baby Prince Eddard to the Eyrie, under the protection of House Arryn. He was to be raised there until it was safe to return.

    • At Dragonstone, Daenerys interrogates Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen) whilst he's tied to a bed. She addresses him as Aegon and explains she she's sick of him being a mopey wolf -- that he needs to become a dragon and continue the blood of old Valyria. She tells him that when he killed her, he in-turn killed their child she was baring. He begged for death, as it would end his emotional suffering and guilt -- her punishment to him, was that she would make him live with these regrets.

    • The Dornish army easily marched to the gates of King's Landing and were permitted entry. Bran had foolishly requested them to come help with the rioting common folk and the Red preachers. In the throne Prince Anders, his men and Daario Naharis waltzed in to meet Tyrion and Davos, both of which soon had daggers at their throats. Daenerys and Drogon soared throughout the skies of King's Landing and the Red Keep, whilst the civilians cheered at her prophesied return. Davos Seaworth, Brienne of Tarth, Podrick Payne and Yohn Royce are executed.

    • The Ironborn, led by Yara (Asha) Greyjoy, successfully take Winterfell and capture Queen Sansa.

    • Daenerys successfully sits upon an interim throne; demanding the death of Tyrion, Bronn, Sansa and Samwell Tarly. Dorne pledged fealty of course, and Daenerys presented a Valyrian steel sword to both House Yronwood (Sunbeam) and House Allyrion. She also confirms Jon's true parentage to many nobles at the court. Jon bowed before her, guilt-ridden, publicly admitted to his crimes and renounced any claims to the throne. Her punishment to him, was that he would be forced to marry her and give her children.

    • Prince Anders Yronwood visits House Hightower, informing them that Bronn has been killed and stripped of Highgarden. Pleased with this new, Lord Baelor Hightower reminds him that his sister, Dyonne, was promised to become Lady of Highgarden to Bronn. Ser Armond Caswell, a cousin of Lord Lorent Caswell, had already pledged fealty to Daenerys -- so she instates him as the new Lord of Highgarden and Lord Paramount of the Mander. To please House Hightower, a deal is made, whereby the future sons of Caswell would always marry the daughters of Hightower. The blood union of Caswell and Hightower would rule the Reach for years to come.

    • Daenerys flies to the Eyrie, to force Lord Robin Arryn to bend the knee. He welcomes her with ease and all the pleasantries. Robin even gives up Sansa's son, baby Eddard. Robin bends the knee, despite the Valelords being angry at the death of Yohn Royce.

    • King's Landing undergoes a mass reconstruction effort, commanded by Queen Daenerys. She funds merchants, feeds the hungry and allows the Faith of R'hllor to continue throughout the city, though the older generation of common folk still remained loyal to the Faith of the Seven.

    • Anders Yronwood meets with the high lords of the Westerlands on behalf of Daenerys. He tells them that Lord Tyrion will soon be executed and that the Queen would like them to choose a new Lannister to rule in Casterly Rock. They were stubborn, demanding Tyrion was rightful -- then Anders reminds them that they don't want to burn in dragonfire. Lucion Lannister becomes Lord of Casterly Rock and Warden of the West.

    • Daenerys has a new throne built from the dragon skulls beneath the Red Keep. She dubs it "The Dragon Throne" and that it may only be ruled by the Blood of the Dragon.

    • Sansa Stark is burned alive by Daenerys, leaving Rickard Ryswell as Regent of Winterfell and Warden of the North, until Eddard Stark comes of age.

    • Edmure Tully continues to rule the Riverlands and has two children, Edmyn and Minisa.

    • Robin Arryn continues to rule the Vale and has two children, Jon and Jeyne.

    • Armond Caswell weds Dyonne Hightower and has a son, Lorys.

    • Lucion Lannister weds Bethany Hill and has a son, Cerion.

    • Yara (or Asha) Greyjoy, after seeing the downfall of the North, comes to see that independence isn't a good idea for the Iron Islands -- they begrudgingly need to trade with Westeros, as Daenerys rules that their reaving and pillaging lifestyle is to stop. Kingsmoots still occur, however -- where the Lord of the Iron Islands is elected, but the heir of Greyjoy is always a nominee.

    • Gendry Baratheon, in thanks to House Dondarrion, weds Joanna Dondarrion and has a son, Orys.

    • Daenerys has five children with Aegon: Jaehaerys, Rhaenys, Visenya, Daemon and Naerys.
